  • Preparation Instructions

    Recipe for meat filling

    • 2   cups fresh chopped cabbage, or bean sprouts (500 mL)
    • 1   cup celery, chopped (250 mL)
    • ½  medium size onion, chopped
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper (0.65 mL)
    • ¼  teaspoon sugar (1.25 mL)
    • ½  teaspoon salt (2.5 mL)
    • 1 ½ teaspoons soya sauce (7.5 mL)
    • 1 ½ teaspoons canoal oil (7.5 mL)
    • ½  pound minced pork, sautéed (250 g)
    • ½  cup fresh chopped shrimps (125 mL) (OPTIONAL)
    • ¼  cup sliced mushrooms (60 mL) (OPTIONAL)
    • 1   egg white (for sealing edges of cover)

    Instructions To Make Egg Rolls

    • Mix all vegetables together and then remove excess juice.
    • Add seasoning and other ingredients, mixing well but lightly.
    • Place 2 tablespoons of mixture on each cover.
    • Moisten all around edges with egg white.
    • Fold front and back over to overlap at middle.
    • Press both ends to close, making sure all edges are properly sealed.
    • Deep fry in canola oil until golden brown.  Rotate frequently.
    • Serve with plum sauce.
    • Refreezing the covers is not recommended.
